Upside Downside Ratio
Term category: Stocks
In 10 words or less: A ratio that tells you whether stocks in general are going up or down.

Definition: The volume of advancing shares versus the volume of declining shares in the NYSE.

StockJargon Advice: If the upside downside ratio is greater than 1, it means more stocks are going up than those going down. And if it's below 1, stocks on the whole are declining.
