Online Broker
Term category: General Investing, Stocks
In 10 words or less: A website that allows you to buy and sell stocks.

Definition: Online brokers are automated websites that allow you to place trades to buy or sell stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other securities.

StockJargon Advice: Since online brokers are automated and offer very low commissions, they also don't provide investors with much support in the form of advice.  So if you're not comfortable investing on your own, you may want to consider opening up an account with a traditional broker.
