Hybrid Fund
Term category: Mutual funds
In 10 words or less: A mutual fund that invests in a mix of stocks and bonds.

Definition: These are sometimes referred to as "balanced funds". They're mutual funds that invest in a mix of stocks and bonds (typically 60% stock, 40% bond). They give investors a single option for achieving diversification.

StockJargon Advice: Hybrid funds are great for investors who are looking for a single investment vehicle to create a diversified portfolio. If you don't want to mess around with owning a number of different mutual funds, a hybrid fun will take care of all of this.

As for their expense ratio, expect them to be fairly high. And their returns aren't exceptional, but they certainly provide stability.
