Definition: The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program seeks to measure the competency of financial analysts.  Its three tests contain many questions about portfolio management, economics, ethics, etc.

StockJargon Advice: The CFA is a prestigious professional certificate that many analysts seek out.  Because the program requires the analyst to have three years professional work experience and complete three very difficult exams, analysts who have completed the program are seen has very competent.
